Royals Endurance Runners Headed to Provincials

Our Valley Royals athletes have made some great strides as the Cross Country season has progressed. At the recent Fraser Valley High School Championships our athletes exceeded expectations virtually right across the board. Jared deHaan placed 3rd in the senior boys and Reid Johnston placed 16th , very strong performances for athletes with only a few months of background in our sport. Lukas Smith placed 22nd in the senior boys which was also a very strong finish. Cassidy Hutchison stepped it up running two minutes faster on the same course than she ran in the Pre Valley Meet to finish an outstanding 12th in the senior girls and her sister Ally Hutchison ran strongly to grab the last qualifying spot to the Provincial High School Championship at 42nd. Josh Carsience ran strongly in the Junior boys race to finish 16th and Arshdeep Waring ran well in the senior girls to just miss qualifying for the Provincial meet at 56th. Watch for these athletes at the upcoming BC Athletics Cross Country Championships and the British Columbia High School Championships on November 3rd. –Go Royals
