BC Cross Country Championships 2021

Our Valley Royals Cross Country runners were in Victoria this past weekend (Oct 22) representing us at the British Columbia Cross Country Championships. Our young and developing group did extremely well in what was for many their first cross country race on the provincial stage. Our top finishers in their respective divisions were Nicholas Jirot with 2nd, Averie Westbrook in 3rd,  Adrianna Buitelaar in 6th,  Riley Simmonds with 7th, Damion Sutton with 7th, Mark Molina in 9th, and Zoe Unger in 12th. Our crew of 24 runners almost without exception rose to the occasion and turned in personal best performances. As we can see from these results, our young group has worked very hard over the past two years and have put themselves in a position where they will soon be challenging for medal performances, team titles, and continued personal bests, at the very competitive provincial level.

So very well done for all our Cross Country Runners and their families who support them. – Coach Scott

Fantastic Festival of Cross Country Performances

The JDs performed very well at the Festival of Cross Country meet this past weekend (Oct 2). For many athletes, this was their first meet of the season. Adrianna Buitelaar placed 2nd in the U14 division, and Damian Sutton Narrowly missed the medals with a 4th place finish in his division. Mark Molina, Samuel May, Arata Nakanishi, Arie Wassenaar, and Will Vanschagen all ran extremely well in a very competitive U16 boys division, and many of our athletes are continuing to make large leaps forwards every time out.

A big  congratulations to all our runners who competed. Well done.

2021 Grand Prix Cancelled

As a result of the recent Public Health order and announcement on September 28, 2021, and after serious consideration, the Valley Royals Board of Directors has made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Grand Prix Cross Country series set to run on October 6 and 13.

We could not in good conscience bring together as many people as the Grand Prix attracts,  given we are a region that is recognized by Fraser Health with growing COVID numbers and imposed health orders.

We trust you understand our having to make this very difficult decision, and we hope to bring the Grand Prix back in full force in the 2022 season.

Fees: All fees will be refunded in the format they were paid.
