Many Thanks to Royals Hospitality Crews

What an amazing day the club had serving at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Clearbrook Park! Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the hospitality efforts today!

The club has also received some words of appreciation from the event organizers:

On behalf of the organizing committee for the 2019 Canadian Cross Country Championships, I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Valley Royals Track Club and its many volunteers that participated in preparing the food for officials and volunteers.  I heard nothing but compliments on the food and variety and the delivery of it.  The Valley Royals participation did much to make the meet a success.

With Thanks, Gerry Swan for the Committee

I would like to personally reiterate Gerry’s comments as Meet Director. A huge thank you to the Valley Royals & their volunteers that helped make the 2019 National Championship a success. The volunteer food/ beverage service was greatly appreciated &  a valuable part of the event.  A huge thank you to the VR coaches that also stayed late to assist with equipment take-down. The volunteer food service  was done exceptionally well and the efforts were very much appreciated by the event hosting committee. Please extend our thanks to all the volunteers & the club executive.

Sincerely, Andrew Lenton, Meet Director

Help Athletes in India

Got any kind of athletic clothes, shoes, spikes or light sports jacket that you’ve outgrown?
Jag Bath is flying to India on December 8th and she would love to take your athletic hand-me-downs to give to children in need at a Track & Field club there.
If you have athletic items that you can give, call/text Jag at (604) 751-1265 to arrange to drop them off at her house. Thanks for helping!

Help Provide Home-Town Hospitality at Canadian XC Championships Nov. 30th

Calling all Volunteers for an Exciting Opportunity! The Valley Royals have been invited to serve at the Canadian Cross-Country Championships in Clearbrook Park on November 30, 2019. The club will provide food services for the Volunteers and Officials working at this national-level meet happening right here in Abbotsford! This is a great opportunity to see the top cross country athletes in the nation compete and show our home-town hospitality to the people putting on this event.

We have been asked to make and deliver Chili and Buns to the Officials & Volunteers for lunch as well as some snacks and beverages throughout the day. Including feeding our own club volunteers, we are preparing for approximately 100 people. How can you help? We need a Food Service Team to work together to cover these simple but important tasks:

  • 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Lunch Prep & Serve Team to meet at the Warming House to cut & butter buns and package the chili into single-serving containers (labeling vegetarian and mild versions) and deliver the containers hot to Clearbrook Park for lunch time distribution
  • 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Hospitality Team at Clearbrook Park to deliver snacks/beverages to the volunteers and officials as they are working throughout the day and deliver the hot lunch. (Let Debbie know if you can serve in the morning, afternoon or all day)
