Great athletes are the result of great programs and our board members, parents, volunteers and coaches have all done a fantastic job this fall in developing our athletes. – Coach Scott
Royals Shine at Eastern Valley Championship
Our Royals cross country runners had a great showing at the very well attended Eastern Fraser Valley Championship yesterday on our home course. Riley Simonds finished 30 seconds ahead of the field to win the grade 8 boys division, and we had a landslide in the Junior Men’s race with Mark Molina finishing 1st, Sam May 3rd, Arata Nakanishi 4th, Arie Wassenaar 7th, Will Van Schagen 8th, and Tristian Steiger 13th. William Burke rounded out the day on the men’s side by winning the Senior Boys Championship. On the women’s side Zoe Unger and Adrianna Buitelaar had fantastic races in the Junior Women’s division, finishing 2nd and 4th in a field of 60 runners. Adrianna, who is grade 8, decided to run in the Junior race and was successful in her bid to grab a qualifying spot to the Provincial Championships November 6th. Ally Hutchison had a strong race in the Senior Women’s division to finish in the 8th position.
A big congratulations to all our runners, most of whom are moving on to the BC High School Championships in a week and a half’s time. – Coach Scott

BC Cross Country Championships 2021
Our Valley Royals Cross Country runners were in Victoria this past weekend (Oct 22) representing us at the British Columbia Cross Country Championships. Our young and developing group did extremely well in what was for many their first cross country race on the provincial stage. Our top finishers in their respective divisions were Nicholas Jirot with 2nd, Averie Westbrook in 3rd, Adrianna Buitelaar in 6th, Riley Simmonds with 7th, Damion Sutton with 7th, Mark Molina in 9th, and Zoe Unger in 12th. Our crew of 24 runners almost without exception rose to the occasion and turned in personal best performances. As we can see from these results, our young group has worked very hard over the past two years and have put themselves in a position where they will soon be challenging for medal performances, team titles, and continued personal bests, at the very competitive provincial level.
So very well done for all our Cross Country Runners and their families who support them. – Coach Scott

I would like to finish by giving a big shout out to all of our great volunteers who made this event such a success. -Coach Scott
We had many compliments from all the universities, clubs, and high schools that attended, and it would not have happened without all of you. Thanks for all your fine efforts.
